I am based in the UK and we get the X factor, which is the same as American Idol except for the age limit. With the X Factor, there is no age limit. In the UK, we also get to watch American Idol on ITV2. The best part of these programs has got to be the auditions. Here you will find some of the finest comedy ever seen on television, but does it produce the finest singers. In my opinion defiantly not.
Yes, there are some good singers, but no better than I have seen in clubland over the past thirty years. As a keyboard player I have worked with thousands of singers some totally rubbish some are ok five finger shoes , you know, a nice singer. Then you have the good singers, well rehearsed, and well dressed a bit of polish to the act. Then you have the WOW what a singer. I can count them on one hand in over thirty years of working in clubland.
Now this is just my humble opinion of course. I am not a singer; I’ve just worked with lots of them. Granted I work in back street clubs and pubs and American Idol has the best equipment, musicians, producers air jordan heels , promotion and the whole world to sell it to, but a singer is a singer right. The only difference is the environment one is a pie and a pint the other is caviar and champagne.
So maybe the title of this blog should read, “Does the X Factor and American Idol Produce Great Television?” absolutely, one hundred percent YES. Now be honest, how many of you are not that bothered about watching or don’t bother to record the show once the auditions are over. All right some of you, but that’s only because Simon Cowell is dishing the dirt.
I know some of the singers that applied for the X factor and they didn’t even reach the auditions stage. Not because they are bad singers, if they were bad they would probably reach the auditions. The reason is, they are not good enough to make it all the way and they are not bad enough or funny enough to make good television.
I certainly wish all the singers that have won these competitions the very best. Will they be top selling artist? I haven’t seen much evidence of that in the UK. I must conclude that the X factor and American Idol create great television and make millions of pounds/dollars and give an extraordinary opportunity for a few not great nike high heels , but good singers.Romeo Burke: Musician songwriter Music producer Video clip -Producer Loan Debt Advisor 38 Years Single living in The Netherlands Europe\ Florida USA born in Suriname South America;

DRM Free Has Apple Really Admitted Defeat

This article looks at an important shift in the digital music format that has happened very recently. It specifically looks at the differences between DRM free music distribution and the first wave of online download offered by Apple for the iPod that featured heavily restrictive DRM measures.
Apple Computers are sometimes regarded as a company that thrives on innovation. The iPod personal music player has become the dominant product used by consumers to listen to music on the go. In 2007, the company announced that, in conjunction with EMI, all of the EMI recordings on their site would become available at a much higher-quality format without restrictions on how many devices to which the music may be copied or any other music restrictions. This begs the question of whether Apple has given in to the inevitability that music will be distributed digitally outside the interests of the labels or whether they’ve innovated in a way that addresses consumer concerns.
Music restrictions and digital rights have long been sore spots for consumers. From the consumer’s point of view, they purchased the song or album and there is no real difference between making a copy to put on their personal computer and making an audio tape of an album they could play in their car in the past. Digital rights, since the advent of the personal computer, have seemed to consumers to be a means by which the music distributers have endeavored to offer less and less for the consumer’s dollar.
The music distributers, of course, have good reason to be concerned about DRM free music. Pirated downloads, in 2007, outnumbered legitimate downloads by a ratio of 20 to 1. For the distributors, the Internet oftentimes means that the majority of their product’s popularity generates for them no revenue. Apple has bucked the trend taken up by most music distributers in allowing their customers DRM free music while most of the music industry has made efforts to punish pirate sites, users who download illegally and the ISP’s that provide service. In general, the latter actions have been a public relations loss for the companies.
Music restrictions have several drawbacks that are innate to the technology on which they are stored. For starters, digital technology advances at an incredible pace. This year’s top of the line laptop is generally next year’s paperweight. Where a CD or record could be kept for years and listened to on any player capable of reading the format, an MP3 or ACC file with music restrictions built in could easily become useless once the media on which it is stored becomes out of date. With consumers becoming less amicable to the idea of luxury spending, buying the same music more than once is something to which they are likely to harbor a very negative feeling. Apple has not so much admitted defeat, they’ve addressed a concern.
While some digital rights management devices certainly work in the favor of the company and the artists of new music, they suffer from being fairly easily “hacked” in many cases and from being, in many regards, an attempt to keep a rapidly changing industry subject to the same rules as it was in the past. Fighting against the changes brought to the music industry by being ever-more restrictive with rights has, largely, proven to be as effective as sweeping waves from the shore. The 20 to 1 pirate to legitimate download ratio is illustrative of this.
Apple, along with EMI, may have admitted defeat on an old strategy but have certainly not given in to pirates. The products they’re offering are of much higher quality than what was previously offered and the DRM free nature of the music distribution goes a long way toward making consumers feel that their money is better spent. In a tightening market, value is certain to entice.
I hope this article has helped widen your understanding of the current state of DRM on new music and the development of a more user friendly digital music scene that lets people freely obtain music and enjoy it for a fair price. Rhythm guitar is often the backbone of many pieces of music and can make a huge impact to the feel of the song, especially when played well. It is however often overlooked by many guitar players just how to make that rhythm playing cut through the piece of music and really stand out … in a word, it’s muting, probably the most under-practiced technique among many many guitarists. One of the problems when playing chords on the guitar is there’s a lot of notes ringing out together and if you aren’t careful then these notes will end up becoming so noisy that they effectively cancel out a large part of the rhythm itself. For some songs this isn’t a problem and it works well but when it’s not a required effect then it’s time to sit back and take a critical listen to what’s going on because it can be the difference between something sounding fantastic or just plain messy.
Rhythm is about dynamics and silence is a very important part of that dynamic. If everything is played at one continuous level then there’s no dynamic, therefore there’s no rhythm so when you are playing chords on the guitar as a rhythm guitarists then this silence becomes as important as the strumming. Muting is how we create the silence or quiet parts between the beats of the music. Muting a guitar chord is usually done by releasing the tension in the fretting hand or by bringing the palm into contact with the strings with the strumming hand or a combination of both. Chord playing is all about this technique and can change the effect drastically. Chord muting is just as important as chord playing. How much time do we guitarists spend practicing this technique? I don’t know the exact answer but I do know it’s nowhere near as much as we should. If the answer to this question is not a lot then spend some time practicing your chord muting, you’ll improve your playing very noticeably.
